Pamela recieved her initial art education at Towson University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree of Science. She then worked as a scientific illustrator for the Department of Agriculture for several years. Several years ago Pamela discovered her true love, fine art painting and portraiture. She has studied and found inspiration from such artists as Mary Cassatt, Thomas Gainsborough, and John Singer Sargent, as well as several contemporary artists. Pamela continues to study with realist artist Matt Zoll, and develop her mastery of classical painting techniques and composition.
In portraiture, Pamela strives to capture the vitality, energy, and unique qualities of her subjects. This involves a delightful combination of the right pose, facial expression, setting and color choices. When Pamela paints, it is with an awareness that she is creating a family heirloom to be treasured for generations. Ms. Phillips' portraits capture the joy and vibrancy of childhood, the dignity of a profession, a momerable moment or milestone in one's life,
"I have a great passion for creating beautiful art for my clients. The process of transforming my subjects onto canvas gives me deep satisfaction and I look forward to each new commission with enthusiasm."
